The Casper test is a situational judgment test that assesses an applicant's personal and professional characteristics through open-ended questions. It's used by many universities, particularly for programs like medicine, dentistry, and education, to evaluate candidates beyond academic achievements. The test presents scenarios and asks applicants to explain their approach and reasoning. The test is currently being used as part of the Curtin University application criteria for their undergraduate medical program.
The Casper test is also broadly required in addition to GAMSAT as an application criterion for most Graduate medical and dental degrees across Australia.
Furthermore, Universities use Casper as part of their admissions process for Veterinary Science programs and Master of Teaching (Secondary) programs.
It is highly recommended that applicants prepare for the Casper test!
The webinar will be conducted by a senior NIE facilitator (Rebekah Ramsey) as a 4-hour interactive and informative program, designed to provide students with the guidance and support they need to prepare for the Casper Test.
In this focused and interactive workshop, Rebekah will walk you through everything you need to know about the Casper test, including how Curtin University may use your results as part of their selection process for medicine. You’ll unpack real sample scenarios and explore the kinds of qualities and competencies the assessors are looking for. The session also includes expert coaching on how to present your best self on camera—staying calm, authentic, and articulate under timed conditions. Finally, you'll learn how to structure strong responses within the limited time allowed, so you can make every second count.
